Your trusted protein production vet.

Lachlan studied his Bachelor of Veterinary Science at James Cook University (QLD), graduating in 2013.


Some of his outstanding achievements include:

  • Australian Cattle Veterinarians Bovine Health and Disease Prize for highest aggregate grades in dairy cattle medicine and surgery;
  • Beef Cattle Medicine and Production Medal for highest aggregate grades in beef cattle medicine;
  • The Don Kerr Student Award – national award presented for excellence in cattle medicine across all veterinary faculties;
  • 2016 – Received an Outstanding Early Career Alumni Award (James Cook University) for valued industry achievement.

Dr Lachy is passionate about cattle throughout all life stages and has many years experience in feedlot medicine, large scale cattle reproductive management, and in general mixed animal practice. 


During his career, Lachlan has delivered presentations and field days for many industry bodies, breed associations and farmer groups around animal health, animal behaviour and advancement of cattle handling.


Lachlan has experience in animal handling facility design, as well as development of training packages to optimise staff safety whilst improving levels of stockmanship. Lachy has a passion for cattle behaviour, and utilising greater understanding of behaviour to improve outcomes for cattle and caregivers.
